E-Safety & Remote Learning

St Bartholomew’s Primary School is committed to ensuring that high quality learning continues even when children are required to self-isolate due to the Coronavirus.  Whilst the school building may need to be closed at times to these children, learning itself is never ‘closed’ at our school. Remote learning and on-going communication and feedback between teachers, pupils and parents is important at St Bartholomew’s.

E-Safety

As a school, we want to promote the safe and positive use of the internet and technology for our pupils and it is our intention to use various platforms to support the children’s learning in school and at home.

For those children home schooling, the topic may generate questions and discussion points, which we would encourage parents/adults/carers to support their children with.

As a school, we are using 'The ProjectEVOLVE toolkit' to deliver and embed E-safety lessons. It offers engaging and focussed activities written by leading experts to engage and inform children and young people around important steps forward in their online development. The toolkit is based on UKCIS framework “Education for a Connected World” (EFACW) that covers knowledge, skills, behaviours and attitudes across eight strands of our online lives

  • Self-image and identity
  • Online Relationships
  • Online Bullying
  • Heath Wellbeing & Lifestyle
  • Privacy & Security
  • Copyright and Ownership
  • Managing Online Information.

These outcomes or competencies are mapped to age and progressive.
